Insomnia Cookies was founded by Seth Berkowitz in 2003. He came up with idea while in his dorm room at the University of Pennsylvania. Since then, Insomnia Cookies now has over 100 locations. Offering a variety of delectable cookies, brownies and ice cream. Offering vegan and gluten free options too. One of the things Insomnia prides itself on is delivery. Unlike most restaurants and treat shops Insomnia Cookies offer delivery from 10 am – 3am Monday through Friday. It’s stated in their mission statement which says: What makes us so great? We specialize in delivering warm, delicious cookies right to the doors of individuals and companies alike – What’s not to love?


Strengths

• Insomnia Cookies can be found in convenient locations.

• This business can be found on several social media platforms, hence their excellent social media presence


Opportunities


• The company may sell baking kits to take home. The kit includes all the ingredients to make their favorite cookies.

• Since they sell cookies, they could also release a selection of flavored milks.

• The company can also expand and start selling dog treats.


Threats


• Cookie companies in proximity could take business.

• Scarcity of ingredients in the area could slow down business.

• Weather conditions could affect the amount of business the company has.


Weaknesses


• There is only a small variety of cookie to choose from

• Lack of involvement in the community

• Absence of creativity in branding.




With so much negativity in the air, some a fun event is well overdue. Insomnia Cookies would like to host a bake off. The Bake Off will take place in our local culinary school, Mise En Place. This site is equipped with all the materials we will need for a bake off. Getting publicity for both Mise En Place and Insomnia Cookies.


This contest will last for 3 days. On the first day will start with 5 contestants from 5 different locations. Each contestant will then be given 4 hours to come up with and bake a new cookie. It has to be unlike any cookie that is already on the menu. On day 2 & 3, the cookies will be sent to 5 different Insomnia locations. In this portion of the contest, the customers will be the judges. Whatever cookies sell the most will be the winner. There can only be 1 winner.
